7 Day Fully Guided Tour [ We ride in  France ]

the essence of the tour!

This ride through the South of Alsace is for those epicurean bikers wanting to be guided with a certain 'nonchalance' along winding roads, ready for a number of stops to discover some regional particularities, and to admire the prodigious nature of this region of milk and honey. The meals and (in reasonable amounts) the drinks are included in this tour, which underlines the intentions of the organisers to present not only the historical and tourist features of the region, but also the gastronomy which has made it internationally well-known.

We will stay the whole week in the 'Cour du Bailli' in the heart of the medieval village of Bergheim, on the 'Wine Road'. Aurelien Halbeisen is a wine grower, runs a hotel, and rides a magnificent Wide Glide. A warm welcome, the best regional wines and the best meals. Our daily rides will make us discover this wine region as well as the most beautiful roads high in the peaks of the Vosges mountains, the Bugatti museum in Mulhouse, the 'eco museum' of Ungersheim and other spectacular sites like the castle of Haut-Koenigsbourg, and Kayserstuhl (Germany), the unbeatable 'road of the peaks' where we will eat lunch at a farm. The omnipresent storks will be your good luck charm during this whole Gargantuan week. This tour is meant to help you discover the southern part of Alsace. Generally, the June weather in Alsace is very good but can be changeable especially at high altitude. That is why the programme cannot be definitive as certain changes may be necessary according to the weather. We cannot guarantee that the whole programme will be possible, but we will do our best with a forecast of five days to organise a flexible week, to be able to make the most of this circuit. We suggest that you arrive earlier or stay longer after the tour in Strasbourg in order to visit this magnificent city. It will be our pleasure at West Forever to advise you or book extra nights in hotels.

Day 1: Entzheim (Arrival)

Meeting point at your guide's farm in Entzheim. Transfer can be arranged if arriving by plane or train to Strasbourg. Parking is organized for those who come by car (with or without a trailer). Rental bikes will have been collected earlier from the Harley-Davidson dealership in Fegersheim for those who have chosen to rent a bike. Free evening.

Day 2:

Entzheim Meal at Zundelkopf (Hohwald), a mountain restaurant. Visit Haut-Koenigsbourg. Riquewihr. Visit Bergheim, with the aperitif on the ramparts.

Day 3:  

Mountain Crest scenic road, from Sainte Marie aux Mines to Cernay. Best parts: Hohneck, Grand Ballon, 1,424m high, the 'Old Armand'. Meal at Huss farm. In the evening, BBQ by the pond.

Day 4:  

The Wine Road - South Bergheim. Kaysersberg (Albert Schweitzer). Visit the cheese dairy at Hachimette (Lapoutroie). Orbey – Trois Epis. Lunch in Turckheim. Tarte flambée as much as you like. Munster – the Pass of Linge – Lapoutroie – Freland (langue Welche).

Day 5:

Eco-museum of Ungersheim. Meal at the Eco-museum. The Bugatti Museum.

Day 6:

Colmar. Neuf-Brisach. Kaiserstuh. Marckolsheim Weir. Harley-Davidson showroom at Fegersheim. Free evening.

Day 7: Entzheim (Departure)
