"Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary CLASSIC Ride" 2013
21 Day Guided Tour [Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California]

START WITH A PARTY to BEAT ALL PARTIES in Milwaukee!

Then Take a turn off into a bygone era.

Explore the endless miles of Route 66 and see the America of the 1920s to 60s. Visit the wonderful old trading posts, petrol stations, motels, Drive in Cinemas, diners and towns along the scenic "Mother Road". Slow down and enjoy the aroma of newly cut hay and hickory smoke drifting from the chimneys. Stop and stroll through towns which haven't changed since they were bypassed by the interstate highway decades ago. Sample a real American hamburger and a smooth shake that taste the way they're supposed too. Pull over along a deserted stretch in the Mojave and listen to the hum of millions of wheels that have passed this way and still make us dream.

A group of Harleys will leave Chicago for a 3,7850km / 2,350miles journey, which will lead to the ultimate destination: Los Angeles on the Pacific Coast. On the program: Route 66 in all its grandeur! For 2 weeks you will travel deep into what is most American in America, truly authentic.

West forever proposes a simplified version of its usual tours. Rather than a group of 50 bikes, this is an international semi-guided tour. Adventurers that you are, we will give you a road book to follow, transfer your luggage each day to the pre booked hotels, and provide quality technical assistance when necessary. There will not be the usual pampering our clients are used to, but still a great atmosphere in the bars and restaurants at night when we are all together. There will be Australians, French, Italian, and other Europeans, an international ambiance in the heart of America!

Saint Louis

Arrival in Milwaukee, Check in to the accommodation..
Then it is PARTY TIME..
Celebrate Harley-Davidson's 110th Anniversary in downtown Milwaukee!

Saint Louis

PARTY TIME! Enjoy the 110th Anniversary Celebrations

NFL

Today we pick up our bikes from HD in Chicago and ride back to our Milwaukee accommodation, ready for our departure for Bloomington, IL in the morning!

NFL

We pick up our bikes and ride out first kilometers on Route 66.
We may stop in Joliet (where the film The Blues Brothers finishes), you will see your first typical 'diners' and first of many oldie worldly service stations.

Saint Louis

Funks Grove Pure Maple Syrup… manufacturers of maple syrup there since 1891, Dixie Truckers home, a "truckers rest stop" a legend since 1928, Lincoln, birthplace and cemetery of the famous US president and so much more…
Today is a short stage however, but it gives us time to explore and still arrive early in Saint Louis on the border of Illinois and Missouri.

Jesse James Hideout

Another 'short' day, but it gives us time to stroll around Saint-Louis, world capital of the blues.

Villa Ridge, Stanton (Jesse James Museum), Cuba, St James and Johnie's bar of 1929… again a day with many options to stop and experience your trek.

Route66

You are now on the authentic Route66 heading West through Lebanon, Marshfiels, Springfield, Carthage, Joplin…

From Kansas in Oklahoma, 347 km of mythical roads. Take for instance Baxter's restaurant where Jesse James and his men lunched on a beautiful day of 1876.

You will also be touched by the Bonnie & Clyde saga… In Chelsea one of the first oil reservoirs was discovered.

Yes, USA have a history and discover it by traversing Sixty-Six!

The BIG Texan

We arrive in Texas and the 'must sees' on the way are still numerous, but the highlight today is likely Big Ranch where we will have dinner this evening and you will have a chance of a free meal if you succeed in eating your 4lbs steak in less than one hour (record to be beaten: 9min30).

Route66

On our way towards New Mexico.

The landscape now change. You have arrived in the West! The legend tells that two Apache warriors "Tokom" and "Kari" fought to conquer the girl of the Wabtomak chief.

The two both perished and gave their name to the Tokomkari mountain which dominates the city.

Santa Fe

Perhaps the most beautiful stretch of road of our trip will lead us to Santa Fe where we stay for 2 nights.

Santa Fe is the capital of New Mexico. An astonishing city, without highrises and with the dwellings entirely built in the adobe (clay) style of the Pueblos Indians.

Santa Fe Markets

Check out the market place, the art galleries, and the excellent restaurants will undoubtedly allure you and you would want to stay there longer if Route66 did not beckon you back on your bikes!

Gallup

The hotel El Rancho in Gallup is the main aim of this days ride and Gallup is the capital of the Indians of all the American nations.

It is a center of trade and exchange of Indian craft industry and probably the ideal place to buy you Christmas presents!

Flagstaff

On todays program: a Petrified Forest and a Metéor Crater. You will spend time in these spectacular and protected places and before riding into Flagstaff, one of the most important crossing points of Route66.

Thing to check out: Santa Fe train station, its authentic 'dinners' and especially take the chance to spend an evening at the Museum Club, the famous bar in the area!

Grand Canyon

You will spend 2 nights to Flagstaff.
Today, you have an oportunity to visit the Grand Canyon.
The national parks are close and beckoning you!

Seligman

You ride Route66 today and it looks just like imagined it.

Williams and Seligman are on your way, do not miss them.

Your guide will introduce you to interesting people who made the history of Route66 and who are contributing to its rebirth.

Oatman

The most authentic passage of Route66 is Oatman, with its phantom village-mine and the wild donkeys roaming the streets.

Then, on to Laughlin, Amboy and your MUST STOP of Roy's Café. A stop in Baghdad Café is also an 'essential' before arriving in Barstow, another mythical city of the sixty-six. Riding into Victorville… We are almost at the end of Route66.

Desert Sky

Ok a last tricky bit, how to arrive in Los Angeles and not stray fro mRoute66, ask your guide and we will take you along to the ultimate goal of your trip: the Pacific Ocean at Santa Monica.

You did it, Hooray, you are now part of the legend and you will be able to finally say: "I did it".

Los Angeles

Free day in Los Angeles, too many options on things to see to mention here!

Los Angeles

That's it, tours over.. you are free to stay, fly home or carry on on your adventures!!
